| Dan Yaccarino is an artist, writer, and producer living in New York City who
has created many children's books and commercial illustrations as well as
his own animated television series. He has also exhibited his work in
several galleries in New York, Tokyo, and Rome.
In 1993, Dan's first children's book, Big Brother Mike, was published. Since
then, he has written and illustrated over thirty more, most notably, Good
Night, Mr. Night, Unlovable, Zoom! Zoom! Zoom! I'm Off to the Moon! and the
Blast Off Boy and Blorp series. Most recently, Dan wrote and illustrated the
young adult fantasy novel, Where The Four Winds Blow, which will be released
in 2003.
Dan's work has graced the pages of countless publications like The New
York Times, Rolling Stone and Time magazine. He has created images for a
wide variety of advertising campaigns as well including Cotton Inc, AT&T,
and Gardenburger. He has also worked extensively in Japan for clients
including Sony and Nikkei and Partner magazines.
In 2001, Dan's animated preschool television series, Oswald, premiered on
the Nickelodeon network to high praise and ratings. Currently, he is writing
and illustrating more children's books and is developing more television as
well as feature film projects. In 2002, Dan had the honor of being invited
to the White House to read his books and participate in the annual Easter
festivities.
